Summary It is not easy to get to Tubajon Community Radio, located 
in a very remote island in The Philippines. It takes about two days 
to complete the journey, first by plane from Manila to Cagayan de 
Oro, then by road from Cagayan de Oro to Surigao City (about 7 
hours), then by boat from Surigao City to Loreto in Dinagat Island 
(about 3 hours), and then riding on the back of a motorcycle to 
finally get to Tubajon.  Main Communication Strategies "The Voice 
of Tubajon" was originally created in 1998 with a small support from 
UNESCO through the Tambuli Network. The support consisted 
mainly in training and a very small transmitter and mixer. Since 
then, the running of the station has been a responsibility of the 
community, under the leadership of Padre Kiko Magnaye, a very 
young (31) priest who arrived to the island six years ago.  
Development Issues Economic development, political development, 
less isolation.  Key Points Padre Kiko Magnaye ambitions for the 
radio a bigger transmitter and seed funds to hire permanent staff. In 
spite of the extreme isolation of the island, this dynamic priest has 
managed to wire himself to Internet and use e-mail to get support 
for the radio station. Twice a week he hooks his laptop to the only 
community telephone line that exists in Tubajon Municipality and in 
2 minutes he has sent and received messages. He has now 
committed himself in a very ambitious project: to set a Foundation to
