THE OTHER DAY, I ran into Ms Libia Lobo Sardesai in Panjim, the
state-capital of Goa.

Ms Sardesai, wife of the former ambassador to Angola and
ex-editor of Goa Today, the late Vaman Sardesai, was,
with her husband, among the team which manned the
clandestine radio station operating from around Belgaum
during the campaign against Portuguese colonial rule in Goa
	around the 1950s.

Apparently, she has the transcripts (written down, in hand) of all the
transmissions made from that station in the 'fifties. A veritable
treasure trove of information. It records regional and global events from
those times, and is in Roman (Romi)-script Konkani.

She's looking for someone -- preferably a young student,
fluent in Romi Konkani -- who can get these transcripts
keyed into a computer, for planned publication.

If anyone has any ideas, or could put her in touch with someone who would
be interested and is capable of doing a good job, please contact her at
John Paul Building, Church Square, Panjim, Goa (phone 222 4996). Rgds, FN
