Though I'm not sure what his immediate prioroties are beyond bombay - I would think that approaching milind deora might make sense. he is young, has probably listened to community radio, has been involved to some extent with the NGO world and has been involved with technology from the computer literacy for economically disadvantaged point of action. the problem i forsee is that he is very urban centric and bombay focussed, and may want to stay that way - at least til he finds his feet.

Wonder how the electoral developments could impact the fate of community
radio in India. If anything, the security-conscious BJP was overtly
cautious, and the United Front government almost approved the idea in the
mid-nineties. Wonder how the Congress will respond to the developmental
potential of this tool.

Does anyone know of MPs who might be favourably disposed to take up this
issue? Madhusudan Mistry was earlier involved
with the world of NGOs. Wonder who might be willing to take up this issue
to 'open up a new voice to the people on the airwaves'. FN
