Maybe we could persuade Mr.Sonam Wangchuk of SECMOL to apply for a Community Radio license. It seems to be just the sort of thing they could use at their 'alternative campus' in Phey, Ladakh.

Is there any way of disemminating information about community and campus radio among a wider audience? Does anyone have a master-list of educational institutions and NGOs in India, to whom we could spread the good word? From the responses we have received to our postings on cr-india and other lists, it is clear that there is a great interest in - and demand for - community radio across the country. It is also clear that the responses come from people who are already clued in to some degree. 

The question is, how do we break out of this charmed circle and get the message out where it could make a difference? The WPC boffins spoke of a possible 4000 community radio stations in India. If the new CR Policy is being framed, could we have at least a thousand applicants lined up and primed for action? 

It has been a year and a half since the Campus Radio Guidelines were issued, and all we have are 55 applicants and one radio station. It would be awful if Community Radio guidelines were to be issued this year, and the same thing happens.
