Sixteen pvt FM channels may be launched

With the Prasar Bharati permitting use of its
infrastructure, including radio towers, sixteen
private FM radio channels may start beaming shortly,
reports UNI.     

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was
signed for a period of 10 years by the operators of
these FM stations spread across five cities with All
India Radio resources, under which fee ranging between
Rs 13.36 lakh to Rs 25 lakh per annum will be paid by
the operators for use of AIR transmission towers. The
fee will be increased at the rate of 2.5 per cent per
annum.
