Asha Swarup new I&B secretary, SK Arora moved to youth affairs 

NEW DELHI: Senior Indian Administrative Service officer Asha Swarup is to be the secretary in the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, becoming the first woman officer to hold this post in this ministry. Swarup is presently special secretary and financial adviser in the department of commerce and industry.

SK Arora, until now secretary in the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, is to become secretary in the Youth Affairs and Sports Ministry. Arora is an officer of the 1971 batch from the Andhra Pradesh cadre, while Swarup is from the 1973 batch in the Himachal Pradesh cadre.

The changes have been approved by the Cabinet appointments committee.
