The government in collaboration with United Nations is organizing a National Consultation for CR broadcasters on 6 & 7 March 2007 in New Delhi. The details are given below.

National Consultation for Practicing and Potential Community Radio Operators in India organised by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India in collaboration with United Nations.


Venue: Indian Institute of Mass Communication, 
JNU New Campus, Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi-110067, India
Dates: 6 - 7 March, 2007
Time: Registration begins at 0900Hrs

Objective:

To raise awareness about the processes involved in community radio licensing, management and operations

To showcase different models/experiences of CR in South Asia and contextualise it to the Indian context

Highlight the various aspects of programming, operation and management of community radio.

This will be the precursor to a series of regional workshops designed to spread awareness of community radio and to encourage community groups to set up CR stations. 

Who can attend?

- Community based organisations interested in setting up community radio stations (CRS). 
- State Agricultural Universities 
- Krishi Vigyan Kendras 
- Established Campus Community Radio Stations 
- National and International NGO’s/ Bilateral agencies who will support the CR movement in India 

Organisations actively involved in the initial stages of preparedness are preferable.
