The show is mainly about the protests which took place in Rostock on the eve of the 33rd G8 Summit, here in Heiligendamm, north east of Germany. ALTERNATIVE AMARC COVERAGE OF THE G8 SUMMIT IN GERMANY
 
Rome, 30 May 2007. The German Association of Free Radios (BFR), the European Section of AMARC and the international network of community radios all over the planet will broadcast alternative information about the activities surrounding the G8 Summit. The informal closed club where eight rich countries act as “masters of the world” will be held this year from 6-8 June in Heiligendam, Germany. The G8 members are Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, the United States of America, Canada (since 1976) and Russia (since 1998).
 
The German civil society organisations expect more than 100,000 participants in the manifestations, gatherings and networking activities, including the Alternative Summit in Rostock. The civil society organisation will formulate alternatives for climate protection, biodiversity and development and will denounce the « informal summit » by which the eight most powerful countries of the world have been imposing neoliberal policies that deepen the income divide, create unemployment and affect the livelihoods of millions of people, create cultural exclusion, war, insecurity, the destruction of the environment and climate change.
 
>From June 2-8 community radio journalists from India, Japan, Germany, Europe, Latin America and other regions will produce an alternative coverage of the activities and debates of civil society organisations not covered by commercial or State news agencies. The information will be broadcasted by community radios and will also be available in several languages via the internet (streaming and podcasting) and satellite (http://medinforadio.net <http://medinforadio.net/>  ).
