*DRISHTI and Video Volunteers are seeking a
Community Video Trainer
for a Community Video Unit in Panchmahals, Gujarat
*
Video Volunteers and DRISHTI Media, Arts & Human Rights, set up Community
Video Units around the country, in partnership with leading NGOs.  At each
Community Video Unit, 5-10 Community Video Producers produce monthly video
news magazines on different issues decided by the community. They screen
these video magazines on widescreen projectors in 25 villages or slums each
month to an audience of up to 10,000 people, as a tool to give people a
voice, promote community-led development and accelerate social change.

*About the Community Video Trainer position:*

This is a job for video journalism-style filmmakers, who are interested in
being part of the global movement to democratize media and who wish to work
with communities.

The Video Trainer will train the seven community producers in all aspects of
video production.

The current vacancy is at a Community Video Unit in partnership with
Yuvshakti, an organization that works with youth to promote peace and human
rights.

The Unit is based in Halol (Panchamahals) which is 60km from Baroda and 160
km from Ahmedabad and the Video Trainer is expected to live and work on-site
(Halol) for a one-year period.

*Language:* The Community Video Trainer will need to be fluent in Gujarati
or Hindi and English

*Job Requirements:
*·      Proficiency in shooting, writing and editing videos
·      Proficiency in operating digital video cameras
·      Proficiency in non-linear editing
·      Must have strong creative and storytelling abilities
·      Must have leadership qualities to motivate and lead
·      Candidates with training experience, or experience working in human
rights or development, will be prioritized
·      Must be willing to relocate to Halol

Job start date:*  immediately
*Contract Period:* 12 months with possible extension/employment.

*Salary: *up to Rs.15,000 per month
