[cr-india] Join to Make Noise against Poverty (please forward)

While I am quite in support of the sentiment, I must say I find the banner
completely objectionable. There is no justification to make 'noise' about
anything.

In Mumbai these days, we are subjected to noise every second day, hordes of
processions run by drunken goons in the name of religion, beating drums and
blocking roads for hours, whilst submersing idols made of the most appalling
polluting materials, including lead based paints and enamels in the sea, which
promptly get washed right back onto shore the next tide, to be cleaned up by the
city administration as best they can.

In Parliament, we see on television that our elected representatives seem to
feel it necessary to make noise about every issue, other than those they should
be focused on, such as measures to actually promote community radio and other
community media in India. Critical Bills get converted into laws with minutes of
debate, if even that much.
