[cr-india] Call for Expression of Interest for Mobile Vaani partnerships

Dear all,

As some of you may know, Gram Vaani has been operating a mobile phone 
based network in Jharkhand, called Jharkhand Mobile Vaani. We like to 
think of it as doing community radio over the phone -- rural communities 
in Jharkhand call into our server to share messages, and listen to 
messages left by other people. We started about a year back and now 
reach out to over 30,000 families who call more than 2,000 times per 
day. All content is contributed by the community, and is broad based 
comprising of folk songs, local news and announcements, questions and 
sharing of best practices on health and agriculture, and feedback on 
government schemes.

We are now launching the Mobile Vaani partner program, to find local 
partners from among community radio stations and other media 
organizations, who want to try it out in their areas. Mobile Vaani 
brings several benefits to CR stations:

* You can upload your content that anybody can call to listen. This will 
extend your outreach beyond the FM broadcast area. Just like you manage 
your playout schedule of radio, in the same way you can control what 
content callers get to listen when they call

* You can survey your listeners using Gram Vaani's voice-based survey 
solution, to understand your community's interests. You can run polls, 
quizzes, and get community feedback on developmental programs running in 
your area

* You can run joint information campaigns with us, on issues ranging 
from rural-urban migration, government schemes such as MNREGA and MSBY, 
and cultural programs such as folk song competitions

* Mobile Vaani also integrates with GRINS, in case you are using GRINS 
already
