Spam are a resoponsibilty of the administrator to control. I run a few
list, and deal with a daily spam traffic of about 100 posts and rarely
it slips into the list. The administrator need to be aware that setting
a list and creating a problem for others is not a great practice.

And, secondly, why should the list be closed? At present there are about
25 students doing reasearch that can post regularly to this lists and
others can post materials that can be help to each other (reviews,
books, biliographies etc). I do not see how this is such a major difficulty.

And, closing a list is a weird concept. If you do not need the list,
just unsubcribe. Why, do you want to erase the archive of the list? Am
not sure what is desired here!
