IIHS announces its first course in the Unpacking Urbanism course
series - *Geographies
of Desire : Understanding the Urban through Film. *

Geographies of *Desire *is scheduled for 13th-15th March, 2015 at the IIHS
Bangalore City Campus. The course is being taught by writer and
filmmaker, *Paromita
Vohra*. Using a selections of films, photographs and other multimedia
narratives, this course will explore how cities and people constantly
re-shape each other, based not only on need, but also on desire. It will
look at the world of desires as portrayed in film as a means of
understanding the urban and how we arrange our lives in the city. Taking
off from these insights about cinema and cinematic storytelling of desire
and the urban, the participants will create narratives of their own with
stills, tiny video clips, basic graphics and text using mobile phones and
computers.
