[Urbanstudy] Urban ARC 2017: The City in Transition | Call for Abstracts

The Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS) presents the first
iteration of its annual research conference – Urban ARC 2017: The City in
Transition. Building on IIHS' goals of fostering research and innovation
around challenges and opportunities of India's urban transition, Urban ARC
2017 will be organised around themes of transition, transformation and
change. It will focus on the urban context in the Global South with an
emphasis on Indian and South Asian urbanisation.

Urban ARC 2017 will host researchers from across the world working on
various aspects and facets of transition in urban spaces, geographies,
built forms, economies, ecologies, societies, politics, and cultures. It
will have a strong interdisciplinary focus, encouraging researchers to
engage with multiple perspectives and viewpoints using the theme
‘transitions' as a lens to critically examine urbanisation and related
questions.

The conference will be organised around eight panels that will engage in
research based conversations on different facets of the Urban. The call for
abstracts is open till 30 November 2016. Details are available at
