Please mark your calendar to attend the Global Forum for Media 
Development (GFMD), a conference in Amman, Jordan, October 1-3, 2005.

This will be the largest-ever global gathering of media development 
professionals, with participants from 100 countries and 300 media 
support NGOs, independent journalists, broadcasters and media 
activists being invited to attend.

The aim of the conference is to begin to address challenges and 
opportunities facing the media development sector -- to bring this 
large and diverse movement together to find common solutions.  A 
donors-only conference will take place nine days later and will 
consider recommendations coming from the Amman gathering.
