a double-decker bus in London during the morning rush hour on July 7
killed 52 transit riders and injured more than 700 others. Between

did not agree on tackling the climate change, yet G8 agreed a $50
billion dollars debt cancellation, which will mean a full debt
cancellation for 18 countries. They also agreed to give approximately
$3 billion dollars to Palestine and to find an end date for farm
subsidies.

 International Media Groups Express Concern over Media Situation in
Nepal

 (20 jul 2005) Twelve international organisations, including eight
IFEX members, have called on all sides of the Nepalese conflict to
end attacks and harassment of journalists in the country. 

In a joint
statement issued at the end of a week-long fact-finding mission, the
organisations expressed "grave concern that since 1 February, press
freedom and freedom of expression in the country has significantly
deteriorated, despite the lifting of the State of Emergency in April."

Rwanda Seeks ICT Growth to Overcome Poverty

 (22 jul 2005) In an attempt to tackle the problem of poverty and
increase their technical knowledge base, the Rwandan government will
focus on developing its Information and communications technologies
(ICTs) capacities. Ways to further ICT growth is to get companies to
assemble computers locally opined the Minister for Energy and
Communications, Mr. Albert Butare. This, government believes would
bring the cost of computers down. Also, the government is trying to
extend its fibre optic link to various provinces.

developed countries to developing countries, from London for example,

TIPS 

AUDIO UPLOAD 

We only accept the most common digital audio formats - MP3 and Real
Audio. 
And we've restricted the file size of audio programmes to 3.6 MB to
ensure relatively easy upload and download of audio files. Remember, 
files bigger than this will be difficult for people to access in
places where the internet connection is slow or unstable. 

If you're encoding in MP3 or Real Audio format using broadcast
quality settings (min. 22,000 sample rate, 16 bit, mono), 3.6 MB is
the 'time' 
equivalent of around 7-10 minutes of speech. If your programme is
more than 3.6 MB, the server will automatically disconnect the
upload. 

MEMBER DETAILS 

As a member of OneWorld Radio you can use your username and password
(sent to you upon registering) to log in whenever you visit. This
will 
enable you to upload and download programmes to/from our database. If
you have problem logging in or youve lost your login details, do not 
hesitate to write to us on radio at oneworld.net. 

If you belong to an organisation and would like to register it (in
case your organisation is not already registered with OneWorld
Radio), 
please click on the 'Add Member Organisation' link underneath your
login details (in the top right-hand corner). 

If you already have registered your organisation and would like to
change previously entered details, click on the link 'Edit member
details' 
underneath your login details (in the top right-hand corner). 

You can now also decide if your contact details will be visible on
the website

When you log in in the top right hand side corner, you will see link
Edit member details. When you click on this link, after the section 
where your details are, you will see three buttons with 
- Don't display contact name on website 
- Don't display address information on website 
- Don't display email information on website 

By choosing any of these options, you will make one (or all) of your
contact details disappear from the website that is available to
public. 
However, your details will stay on the database, so OneWorld Radio
administrators will be able to see them. 

Please note that by hiding your details you are making them invisible
both to the public and the rest of OneWorld Radio members.
