Palestinian media history made on Elections Day

created a special website as first attempt to get an overview of how

UNESCO Appeal to restore radio broadcasting in the Indonesian province of Aceh
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 (12 jan 2005) Programmes and projects relating to emergency relief and
post disaster response in the aftermath of the Tsunami in Indonesia
will have major difficulties if there are no effective communication
channels available to disseminate information. UNESCO therefore
launches an appeal for $ 600,000 for immediate assistance to restore
radio broadcasting in Aceh, Indonesia.

UN opens new front in Liberia's battle for peace: battery-less radio

 (20 dec 2004) The United Nations has launch a nationwide distribution
of wind-up radio sets in Liberia in an effort to accelerate the peace
process and recovery. Being radio a vital means of transmitting news in
Liberia, the new programme seeks to enhance the recovery and
rehabilitation process through civic education broadcasts.

Central and Southern Asia on the west beam of the AsiaStarTM satellite. The 
first programs broadcast over the Asia Development Channel are developed and

Nepal and Afghanistan.

TIPS 

AUDIO UPLOAD 

We only accept the most common digital audio formats - MP3 and Real Audio. 

And we've restricted the file size of audio programmes to 3.6 MB to ensure 
relatively easy upload and download of audio files. Remember, files bigger than 
this will be difficult for people to access in places where the internet 
connection is slow or unstable. 

If you're encoding in MP3 or Real Audio format using broadcast quality settings 
(min. 22,000 sample rate, 16 bit, mono), 3.6 MB is the 'time' equivalent of 
around 7-10 minutes of speech. If your programme is more than 3.6 MB, the 
server will automatically disconnect the upload. 

MEMBER DETAILS 

As a member of OneWorld Radio you can use your username and password (sent to 
you upon registering) to log in whenever you visit. This will enable you to 
upload and download programmes to/from our database. If you have problem 
logging in or you've lost your login details, do not hesitate to write to us on 
radio at oneworld.net. 

If you belong to an organisation and would like to register it (in case your 
organisation is not already registered with OneWorld Radio), please click on 
the 'Add Member Organisation' link underneath your login details (in the top 
right-hand corner). 

If you already have registered your organisation and would like to change 
previously entered details, click on the link 'Edit member details' underneath 
your login details (in the top right-hand corner). 

You can now also decide if your contact details will be visible on the website. 

When you log in in the top right hand side corner, you will see link 'Edit 
member details'. When you click on this link, after the section where your 
details are, you will see three buttons with 

- Don't display contact name on website 
- Don't display address information on website 
- Don't display email information on website 

By choosing any of these options, you will make one (or all) of your contact 
details disappear from the website that is available to public. However, your 
details will stay on the database, so OneWorld Radio administrators will be
