IIHS Announces Programme for Working Professionals in Urban Development (PWP-UD 2013)

The Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS) is inviting applications to its Programme for Working Professionals in Urban Development (PWP-UD), an inter-disciplinary, practice-based programme that allows learners to build upon their existing disciplinary background and experience, to specialise in urban practice. Three Concentration Tracks are on offer: Land and Housing; Water and Urban Environmental Services; and Development, Poverty and Employment.
Beginning with a Foundation Term that introduces learners to key concepts and tools in urban development, the subsequent terms of the PWP-UD will include Immersion Visits to key Indian and Asian cities. This is followed by a 12-week Concentration Term with core courses in the three Concentration tracks. Elective Term allow learners to deepen their learning in specific practice areas.
Taught by a diverse faculty of leading academics and practitioners, the PWP-UD focuses on applied learning, integrated practice in multiple contexts and development of skills necessary for finding effective, sustainable and integrated solutions to problems faced by Indian cities.
